In the words of Charak Samhita, one of the classics of Ayurveda,


“ The persons having the Sattvik essence are endowed with devotion, memory are grateful, learned, pure, courageous, skilful, resolute, free from anxiety, having well- directed and serious intellect and activities, and are engaged in virtuous acts” ( CS III-8:110)
